Our Healing studio

Cathy's studio is cozy, and welcoming, with space for 12-15 students. One of the draws to the studio is the nature that surrounds it. Her studio is nestled on 2 acres of hardwoods, hidden away from city life. Her studio is a home based studio with a private entrance. It has elements of fire, water, and aromatherapy. All props are provided, although students are asked to bring a mat, if able. Cathy provides hands on instruction, with adjustments to form, and generally has smaller classes, so personal attention is provided. Check out the yoga wall!! This healing modality is incorporated into most classes. You will love the benefits of it and will want to come back for more!

Cathy has been studying and training in alignment based Hatha Yoga for the past 14 years with Terry Brown. His gentle, playful, and insightful approach to teaching yoga and philosophy has been her greatest influence. Her interests in human anatomy, therapeutics, and the healing modalities of yoga have bloomed under Terry's guidance. Other influential teachers that she has studied with are Doug Keller, Suzanne Newton, Rodney Yee, Aadil Palkhivala, Bo Forbes, and Elise Browning Miller. Her most regarded teachers are her students, and her children, who inspire her and encourage her to become more aware and transform along this rocky and beautiful journey that is life. Life hands us many things. Yoga gives us tools to manage our stress, and helps develop a mindset that is receptive, compassionate, and fosters inner listening. The sage Krishnamurti said it best, "All of life is yoga". Cathy is a seeker and longs to bring healing and the powerful energy that yoga gives through her private lessons and classes.

Cathy is an Occupational Therapy Assistant with 20 years experience. She has worked with a variety of conditions including degenerative neurologic conditions, general surgeries, orthopedics, as well as geriatrics. She earned her 200 hour certificate from Triad Yoga Institute in 2006 after giving birth to her third child. She completed her 500 hour advanced yoga certificate at Triad Yoga in 2013.
